The Hanging Bridge

This chain bridge was only added after opening of the English landscape garden. The bridge consisted of wood and iron chains.

You can imagine to yourself the feeling of balancing over the abyss on this bridge swinging in the air, accompanied by the gentle rattle of the chains. This was a romantic scene, how perfectly the bridge fit into the surrounding rock faces and natural textures. Unfortunately no images of remain. The inspiration for the bridge could have originated in China.
